1. What This Policy Covers
1.1This Cookie Policy explains how IPATE LAURENȚIU-SORIN PERSOANĂ FIZICĂ AUTORIZATĂ (PFA), operating the HowToRomania brand ("we", "us"), uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) on the website https://howtoromania.io and the API documentation at api.howtoromania.io/docs (together, the "Sites"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. Our approach: no tracking, no advertising cookies
2.1The Sites are built to avoid cookies wherever possible. Neither howtoromania.io nor the API documentation sets analytics, advertising, social-media or tracking cookies, and neither loads third-party analytics scripts or advertising pixels. We do not use cookies to profile visitors, build advertising audiences, or track you across other websites.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
3.1Our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary security cookie (such as __cf_bm, or an equivalent challenge cookie) only when its bot-management or security layer challenges a visitor, for example to distinguish a human visitor from an automated bot attempting abuse. This type of cookie is considered strictly necessary for the security of an information society service that you have explicitly requested, within the meaning of art. 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (the "ePrivacy Directive") as implemented in Romania, and does not require prior consent. It is short-lived and is not used for any purpose beyond security.
4. API keys and authentication
4.1The API itself is stateless from a cookie perspective: it authenticates requests using an API key supplied in a request header, not a cookie. No cookie is set or read by the API for authentication purposes.
5. If this changes
5.1If we introduce analytics, functional cookies, or any other technology that is not strictly necessary, we will update this Cookie Policy and implement a cookie consent mechanism compliant with the ePrivacy rules and GDPR before any such technology is activated for EU/EEA visitors, including a clear accept/reject choice and a way to withdraw consent at any time.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
6.1Because the Sites currently set, at most, one strictly necessary security cookie, there is no cookie preference centre on the Sites. You can still view, block or delete cookies using your browser settings; blocking the strictly necessary security cookie may affect your ability to pass Cloudflare's bot-protection challenge and access the Sites.
